Verdict : AVERAGE   2.5/5

Story, Screenplay, Direction:

Greedy Swarajya Lakshmi (Tabu) always dreams of becoming rich, meanwhile Bhartha Murthy (Abbas) a tainted person steals a suitcase containing 500 crores worth diamonds from people who die in a train accident. After he steals the suitcase the story takes many twists and turns.

Journalist Pathanjali has written a well planned story, the reason behind film running interestingly from beginning till end is because of his script.

Though director Chandra Siddhartha has directed three films till date, his talent has been for the first time showcased in this film with a Manirathnam and Ramgopal Varma style of taking. We feel as if we are watching a new concept, this film is a true example of his talent as a director.

Cinematography:

Gummadi Jayasekhar’s cinematography is the strong point for this film, the camera formula which couldn’t succeed in case of Kamal Hasan’s ‘Mumbai Express’ has done wonders for this film. Photography is the saving grace for this film otherwise film would have failed miserably

Artists Performance:

Tabu has done a glamour show; her character is performance oriented and she carried it gratifyingly. Abbas, Brahmaji, Kota Srinivasa Rao have performed well. Sunil‘s comedy role is a highlight.

How is the Movie?

Technically the film is very good; it runs very interestingly in the first half and after that it doesn’t have any story and goes on in haste. By the time it reaches the climax the audience loses interest in the film, till that time there will be a curiosity about the 500 crores diamonds whereabouts but after seeing the climax we come out with a bit of disappointment.

The interest generated while reading novels and serial will not be there while filming it. After making suitable changes in the novel the film should be shot, otherwise if it goes in a slow pace like reading a novel the tempo will be marred, director Chandra Siddhartha has done this mistake.

Final Verdict:

The Filmostav banner must be appreciated for investing a huge sum for a film which doesn’t need lavishness. If few aspects have been taken care then the film would have been a profit venture, lack of which has opened the film to an average talk.
